Today, Law no. 81/2022 on unfair trading practices between businesses in the agricultural and food supply chain has entered into force. The law regulates commercial relationships between suppliers and buyers of agricultural and food products (e.g., large grocery retail chains), with respect to practices deemed unfair by law. It transposes Directive (EU) 2019/633, aiming to protect the supplier based on the economic power (turnover) of the parties involved in the transaction.
