𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐥 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞: Digitalization imposes new regulations and harmonization of the existing regulations on financial services contracts and regarding the contracts concluded at a distance.

The European Directive 2023/2673, effective from December 18, 2023, aims to harmonize and enhance consumer protection in this context. It introduces clear requirements for information that traders must provide to consumers before entering into a distance contract, along with standards to promote fairness in the online environment.

New regulations include the right of the consumers to request human intervention when using fully automated online interfaces, including provisions on the right to withdrawal within 14 days, directly through a withdrawal function, which is prominently displayed, easily accessible and available at all times throughout the withdrawal period.

The Member States are required to implement and update the national regulations by 19 December 2025.
