This is also doubled by continuous assistance to major corporations with regard to matters of general insolvency.

In addition, our lawyers have multiple legal backgrounds, with substantial expertise in fields such as banking, finance and litigation. Moreover, our team has an excellent set of skills to address restructuring and insolvency matters, both standard or with a highly specialised financial element.

Highlights:


  • Advising an important company producing cables and electrical conductors in Romania in connection with negotiations and settlement of claims with secured funds having as source funds borrowed during insolvency procedure. The financing transaction is the first of its kind on the Romanian market (considered in all its complexity, including the large number of parties (existing secured creditors) involved in its successful conclusion, and one of the few successful financings to be granted to a company under judicial reorganization;

  •  Advising the largest Romanian chemical manufacturing company in the process regarding the acquisition of the distressed assets belonging to Oltchim S.A., as part of the latter’s reorganization plan;

  • Advising an international family owned group of companies in connection with the transfer of an approximately EUR 1.4 billion non-performing loans portfolio belonging to a Romanian subsidiary of a regional bank for the purposes of improving the liquidity of the bank;

  • Advising a global leader in investment banking on the restructuring of a EUR 673,500,000 secured facility granted for the acquisition of a German based automotive sector company;

  • Advising a major Romanian leasing company on the managing of the debt recovery procedure in relation to a large portfolio of debtors as part of its insolvency procedure;

  •   Advising and representing  a registered investment adviser headquartered in Chicago in the insolvency procedure of one of the largest Romanian cooper companies;

  •  Advising one of the main financial-banking institutions from Romania, in connection with the restructuring of a large Romanian group of companies, operating in various domains of activity, from the perspective of existing facilities granted by the bank to the companies in this group.
