application" Seminar. The new amendments of the Civil Code law represent
one of the hottest subjects of the day, with significant consequences over the business
environment in Romania. The event brought forward issues of interest for the daily
operation of companies, either banks, leasing companies, non-banking financial institutions,
manufacturers and distributors, trying to synthesise the solutions the practice
has advanced as response during the first year as of the entry into force of the

Bulboaca & Asociatii successfully defended Allianz Tiriac Asigurari before the
Romanian Competition Council
Bulboaca & Asociatii successfully defended
Allianz Tiriac Asigurari SA before the Competition Council in relation to a high
profile investigation of the latter on the private pension's funds market. The authority
has eventually decided to close the case without imposing any sanctions, although
the initial investigation report proposed that significant fines be applied. The
defence of this case was extremely challenging, requiring the analysis of thousands
of pages of investigation documents and long hearings before the Board of the Competition
Council in which complex legal and economic arguments were presented. The Bulboaca
& Asociatii team of attorneys acting on this case comprised Valentin Berea (partner,
head of the competition practice), Costin Teodorovici (Partner) and Alexandru Mocanescu
(Associate).

Bulboaca & Asociatii starts 2012 with promotions within the team: Two new
partners and three senior associates
The law firm of Bulboaca & Asociatii is delighted to announce two new
partners: Ioana Motofei-Radu and Costin Teodorovici. The decision brings the number
of partners at the firm to eight.
